How To Measure for a Stroller/Wheelchair
In order to measure for a stroller or wheelchair, it is important to position the user in a seat position to simulate the desired seated posture.
Tools needed:
- Rigid tape measure (preferred over a soft tape measure)
- This form
- Pen/pencil
How to measure:
- With the user in a seated position, determine if another person is needed in order to properly support the user in case they cannot sit up unsupported on their own. This is for safety and to ensure the measurements are accurate.
- In order to properly measure a user, it is important to measure for the dimensions as shown on the chart.
- Make sure to measure straight across the user and do not bend the tape measure. Bending the tape measure exaggerates the measurements.
